Out-Breath / In-Breath
Each night I lay myself down to die.
In the morning I am awakened by Life.
If I live fully in each moment
Life consumes me.
I am swept into Life's embrace.
We dance,
In rapture, in fury, in harmony
In Love.
I pour my Essence out for all to drink--
holding nothing back--
For if I try to control
the dance,
keeping Life for myself,
I become brittle, questioning, doubting.
I surrender.
Life uses me as I use Life
to carry me peacefully to Death.
I lie down at Death's feet.
Death comes to me, as Life did,
lifting me gently into the wellspring
of the Eternal.
All is revealed.
I am refreshed and ripened
to be consumed again. |
