Mom's Rocker

sticky varnish
saggy seat
familiar creak
hidden under cobwebs
treasured memories
waiting to be loved back into life

brush away years of neglect
look beyond what seems to be
remember being cradled
recall song echoing with each movement

Come unto me
Find peace, joy, simplicity
Gaze upon this sacred memory
I will enfold you
Comfort you
Rock away your fears and tears
